Happy hours, social gatherings, barbecues are just a few examples of how to slip away from a light diet exactly when all you want is to feel comfortable with yourself. It’s more important than ever to have good habits and a strong will, and it all starts inside of your home.

 

So here are a few tips on how to keep your fridge ready for summer:

 

 

1. START FROM THE OUTSIDE

Write on a board or print it from your computer your meal plan for the week. Salads for Monday, a cold soup for Wednesday, fish tacos for Friday. It doesn’t matter your taste, prepare your mind to follow a schedule and be honest with yourself. Setting goals that are too hard to achieve will only make you frustrated, and that’s not what you want during Summer.

 

2. PLAN A WEEKLY TRIP TO THE MARKET

Instead of having one big groceries day in the beginning of the month, plan small trips to the market. Summer is time to eat a lot of veggies and fruits, and they can go bad faster with the high temperatures. A weekly trip guarantees fresh food, which gives you more inspiration to prepare your own meal.

 

3. INVEST IN LIME AND LEMON

Fruits are the key to a health life. They give you water, sugar, fiber and energy, are as natural as nature can be, are great snacks and they make everything a little bit less boring. Since consuming water is the number 1 tip for survival, adding some lemon and lime to the simple H2O formula can change everything. These fruits help you burn fat, improve the urinary system and do wonders for your skin. Next time you have a glass of water, try to squeeze a soup spoon of lime and lemon juice and witness greatness.

 

 

4. TIME FOR A CLEANING

Open your fridge and take and it will take you less than 30 seconds to find something you can throw away. Summer is the time to change that. Clean your fridge from the bottom up and and keep an eye on the expiration date. Dairy and fruits should not be consumed if they look old. Throw away things you don’t remember when you got it in the first place and donate items you no longer eat. That is a good way to keep track of your groceries needs.

Eggs are the perfect food. You can fry them, scramble them, boil them and there is no wrong way to add this protein bomb to your diet. Eggs will always be a perfect source of protein and fibers that help you burn fat and keep your body moving.
